March Madness – Wisconsin Style

Here I am…in the middle of my 7th week of work straight I think…Now I’m in Indy doing the March Madness Music Festival after doing the Sweet 16 in Houston. Before that was the rodeo there.

Been doing this NCAA festival for the past few years and have had some great acts on the bill. Three days of concerts and college basketball.

This year though, it’s just a little bit better. My home state of Wisconsin is now in the final matchup against Duke. Seriously great stuff to be surrounded by so much red. Hoping they do well on Monday.

I myself will be heading home early enough to watch the game if all goes well after I load out.  More after show on Sunday!

Friday was Cold War Kids, Weezer, & Imagine Dragons

Saturday featured Bleachers, Passion Pit, & Rhianna

Governor’s Ball

Here in Austin this week for a party for the newly elected Governor Abbott (R). I think this is my third one as the other two were for Rick Perry. I’ve always found it interesting here politically. Austin is quite a liberal city through and through but the government has been extremely conservative for a very long time. Guess that falls under that popular phrase ‘Keep Austin Weird’.

Today, as well as yesterday, were amazingly nice outside.  I still miss snow this time of the year but I admit that 12°-15°C is pretty great! Great visit on Friday with a friend from Mumford & Sons crew. He’s out with Ben Howard for a bit filling in his calendar. Also got to catch up with my old roomie too. She’s still doing some amazing stuff with hair and I’m proud that it’s working out.

As always, good food, great coffee (Caffé Medici and Juan Pelota!) and always a cool vibe. Now for some sleep as tomorrow, the work begins.

Old photo time

Today being my first day off in several (four to be exact) weeks, I decided to start going through my library of pictures to start the insane task of cleaning. Cleaning out the unusable ones, the what-the-heck-was-I-thinking ones, the ones that I kept with the thought of maybe, just maybe, there’s something in this one that I can use or would possibly see differently later on. Needless to say, I’ve got a lot of pictures. Nothing, I’m sure, compared to the true photographers out there who make their living on this sort of thing, but as for me and what I use them for…

I have a lot of pictures.

I do however know, that if I were to develop Alzheimer’s, I’m pretty sure I could tell a lot of things based on where these pictures are from and honestly could retrace a lot of my steps from the past 10 or so years. Definitely time to go get another back up drive of sorts because if I were to lose the one I’m using now, a serious break down would occur. Not pretty…. at…all…..

Save and save often is my motto. In my work with digital audio it is a must and now, I’m using it in my digital life as well.

Here’s a few that I came across today that I wanted to share….

Chichen Itza

Did a show at the base of the Mayan temple in Chichen Itza. 2009

Traveling angel

Saw this little cutie at the airport in Buenos Aires.

Usual Austin

This is just one of the many reasons I love Austin. Pulled up to a light. Looked over. Saw this. Perfect.

More to come as I sift through the bushels of pictures with my proverbial rake…. Have a great day people. Stay young!

My first feature…
